NanoCluster

Nanoparticle technology represents an attractive approach for formulating poorly water soluble drugs into pulmonary medicines. NanoCluster is a new formulation technology that overcomes these limitations. The resulting nanoparticle agglomerates possess the microstructure desired for lung deposition and the nanostructure to facilitate rapid dissolution of poorly water soluble drugs.

 

NanoNucleic

Savara’s NanoNucleic technology has been shown to effectively deliver nucleic acid to the lung with very low toxicity. NanoNucleic formulations improve the delivery efficiency and reduce toxicity by combining a cell penetrating peptide with the RNA of interest, which are then condensed with calcium into small nanoparticles that can more readily penetrate cells. NanoNucleic formulations of RNA and DNA have been shown by Savara to produce excellent transfection efficiency in vitro and in vivo, as well as remarkable in vivo anti-tumor efficacy without any notable toxicity.

Based on our preliminary data, Savara believes that the NanoNucleic delivery system is an effective delivery system for RNAi therapeutics applicable for clinical use. This unique approach has enabled an IP position for Savara, and a competitive position potentially enabling a new standard of RNAi delivery.
